Trip to Kansas City - Day Three Aurora

We spent the full day Thursday in Aurora with Eileen and kids.  Brendan worked all day including a closing so he could get off Friday for the drive to Kansas City.  We went with Eileen and the kids to Naperville, a quite sizable city (over 150,000) with a downtown area that reminded me of Georgetown in that it had stores--many high end--worked into the buildings and streets of the area rather than in a shopping mall.

We visited a lot of shops including one that had a lot of jewelry and other bling.  Afterwards we visit a cookie dough shop where everyone had some ice cream or cookie dough...or both.  After walking around is absolutely comfortable summer weather, warm and dry, we returned home to prepare to go to Brock's 3 v 3 soccer.  It was an experience to see this fast paced, possession game with no goalies.  Brock's team lost both of their games but he scored a nice goal followed by a collision with a defender.  See the video below.

As we were returning to the house earlier in the day, I had spotted some egrets in a pond nearby.  I knew I wanted to take some photos but it was mid afternoon with the wrong kind of light.  After the soccer match, I went by again and found that wonderful sunet light and several more egrets and a couple of heron.  You can see more in the Egrets and heron photo Album.
